Welcome to OCEANS 2023 Limerick!
The OCEANS 2023 committee invites you to Limerick in the West of Ireland to join us for the world’s most prestigious, comprehensive, and diverse oceans conference. This is the first time that the OCEANS conference comes to the “Emerald Isle” and the historic city of Limerick, a venue of Céad Míle Fáilte – One Hundred Thousand Welcomes.
The OCEANS conferences, jointly sponsored by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (IEEE/OES) and the Marine Technology Society (MTS), attract up to a thousand attendees and exhibitors every year.
Delegates will gather from around the world for four days to highlight relevant topics and current trends, while creating a community of learners and influencers who consistently advance research, practices, and policies for our “Blue Ocean Planet Earth” theme.
OCEANS 2023 Limerick will bring together key international industry and government stakeholders, influential buyers, investors, researchers, innovators, academia and policy makers focusing on emerging technologies, new science and research initiatives, the latest in commercial products and investment strategies over the next decade. Reflecting on the critical nature and importance of the oceans, technical tracks will include ocean energy production – offshore wind, technologies for ocean stewardship, food supply production and management, remote ocean exploration, and many more tracks.
On your visit to Limerick, you can combine your working visit with a trip of discovery in Ireland which has so much to offer: You can kiss the Blarney Stone and fluidly present your work to our international audience, you can explore the Wild Atlantic Way, or discover Ireland’s Ancient East with passage tombs, burial grounds/mounds and celestial time pieces that are older than the Egyptian Pyramids, you can delight in the vibrant music and may develop the jittery feet of an Irish dancer, you can go to one of our native Gaelic Games of Hurling – the fastest ball game in the world. Or just come along and meet the international Ocean community gathered here with their Irish brethren. OCEANS 2023 Limerick will also include a day of tutorials and a gala banquet.
